Steven Houghton
C.V.
Steven has studied the following Martial Systems:-
Taekwondo WTF, Ju Jitsu Traditional, Ju Jitsu Brazilian, Lau Gar Kung Fu, Judo, Kick Boxing, Tai Chi and Karate.
He has studied Sport Science at college which allowed him to understand bio-mechanics and other aspects of how the body works and how it can be damaged. The large number of arts studied should not be taken as an indication of his inability to stick with any single art for a length of time, but rather an indication of his dedication to gathering more and more information relating to combat. Steven is the first person to question a system which claims to teach self-defence, he has seen many offered solutions to a violent encounter and still looks for more.
This dedication has helped ACIMA form a rounded and real-life answer to self defence. Every technique in the system has been questioned and tested by him, nothing is taken for granted. Steven has listened to many martial arts teachers talk of self defence, when he asks a question they cannot answer, or at least will not answer honestly it reinforces his desire to find the answers himself.
Paul Bradley

studied many systems in the lead up to the creation of
ACIMA, gaining his black belt in Taekwondo in 2003.
Following on from this, he continued to teach for a
number of years, whilst searching for answers to the
many martial questions that plagued his study. He has
received tuition by some of the highest-ranking Korean
Masters in Taekwondo. He has studied under European
Champions, World Champions, 10th Dans and founders,
priding himself on an ability to remain impartial. He
is meticulous in finding fault with any system laid
before him.
Every technique in ACIMA has been scrutinized to the
finest detail, and conforms to the laws of logic and
reason. Paul has expelled anything, which doesn’t make
sense. His uncompromising dedication to the practical
has helped to mould ACIMA into a truly inspirational
and dynamic system.
